Why Use AADAC Services?

We’ve been helping people for a long time.

AADAC has been around since 1951. We started out as the Alcoholism Foundation of Alberta to help people with drinking problems. We’ve grown since then, and now we help people with concerns about alcohol, tobacco, other drugs and gambling. But our basic approach is still the same: we focus on people and we focus on the positive. That history and that approach have made us a recognized leader in what we do.

We can help you.

Maybe you just want to know the basics about alcohol, tobacco, other drugs or gambling. Maybe you know someone who has a problem and you want to do something for them. Or maybe you think you might have a problem with drinking, other drug use or gambling, and you want to talk to someone about it. Whatever you need from us, we can help.

We have a lot of ways to help you.

The info on this website is just a taste of what we offer. We have a full range of information, prevention and treatment services. Every AADAC area office provides information sessions and counselling, and our staff also work with families, schools and community groups to help kids and teens make healthy choices about drugs and gambling.

Our Youth Services centres in Edmonton and Calgary can do even more for you. To find out about our range of youth services, check out the Need Help? section.

We have services near you.

AADAC has offices in cities and towns all across Alberta. Chances are we have an office close to where you live. And if you decide to get help from one of our Youth Services centres, we can support you if you need a place to stay while you’re in our programs.

Our services are free.

From our info sheets and brochures to our three-month live-in treatment programs, all AADAC youth services are free of charge.

Our services are private.

You may not want everyone in the world to know you’re getting help from us. We get that, and we respect your privacy. In fact, we take it very seriously, and we do a lot to protect it.

Want to know more? See our Confidentiality page.

Our services work.

Getting help from AADAC really does make a difference in people’s lives. Nearly all the  people who have been to one of our treatment programs tell us they are satisfied with our services. They also tell us they are improved after their treatment.

How can we help you?
