Where to Get Help/More Information

If you are concerned about your use of alcohol or other drugs, there is help available. If you live in Alberta, AADAC has programs that are confidential, professional and caring.

• Individual assessment and counselling services are available in communities across Alberta.
• AADAC's Enhanced Services for Women provides community outreach, assessment, counselling and aftercare support.
• Detoxification centres provide a safe and supportive environment during withdrawal from alcohol and other drugs.  
• Opioid Dependency Programs (ODP) in Edmonton and Calgary offer methadone maintenance for pregnant women addicted to opioids.
• Residential treatment programs provide specialized treatment services for women at
  • Henwood's Women's Program (Edmonton): a three-week intensive residential program
  • McDougall House (Edmonton): long-term residential support
  • Aventa Addictions Treatment for Women (Calgary): treatment exclusively for women on an outpatient and residential basis
