Department Description
- develops programs to meet the needs of youth, adults and their families in Alberta communities for addictions information, treatment and prevention services
- provides a comprehensive network of services through youth centres in Edmonton and Calgary, including outpatient counselling and prevention for youth and adults, and intensive day treatment for youth
- provides referral to youth residential detox and treatment programs in Edmonton, Calgary and Lethbridge for youth who may benefit from a structured residential setting
- manages AADAC capacity to provide services for youth requiring mandatory detox and assessment services under the Protection of Children Abusing Drugs Act
- responds to opportunities for collaboration with community-based services (e.g., health regions and Child & Family Services authorities)
- provides information about AADAC's policies, programs and services to staff and the public
